my family, my life

I was born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and have lived close by for most of my life.  I never would have guessed I'd be writing, singing and playing music until my last year of college. I picked up a friends guitar, and and have been playing since.  From the beginning I've known that the songs that come out are better put, coming through me.  I can't deny that God exists, or that He's given me these songs.  I feel truly blessed every time pen meets paper.

I was married in 2008 to the most beautiful woman in my world, kimberly marie, and am so glad God brought  her my way.  We couldn't be happier for the addition of Hadassah to our newly forming family.  Although we seem to be in a very transitional stage in life, we are excited to continue in the adventures God has for us, and although life isn't always comfortable, it is blessed and we are striving every day to be the people who see life with eyes of gratefulness, the eyes of "God's Kingdom"

This is one of the more difficult things for me to do, is to try and define myself and where I’m heading from where I’ve been and seem to be.  Life is certainly a journey, but if we’re honest with ourselves the steps aren’t always that easy to read.  And so, I consider myself more of a pilgrim than anything.  My story is no more important than anyone else’s, but the story I’m attempting to be a part of every day is.

I believe God has a story, and He longs for each of us to join in it.  I believe that He is love, and that the moves He’s made in the past prove His love over and over again.  I believe that this world is getting worse in many ways, and because He is love, He is giving us the chance to choose right in the midst of wrong.  I believe that right isn’t nearly as much about a list of rules and laws, as a relationship calling from the deepest recesses of our heart and soul.  And I believe that Jesus is who He said He was, and if someone is offended by a God who would sacrifice Himself for the sake of others then they probably have not been loved very well in their life.

This is who I am, and these are the things that determine my days on this earth.
